Why This Guide Exists
I built SoftHire Systems alone. No engineers. No design team. No funding. It is a hiring compliance platform that covers 55 jurisdictions — generating employment agreements for founders hiring in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Cameroon, and beyond. I run it from my laptop alongside a content brand teaching founders how to work the same way.
When I started talking publicly about how I built it, the response surprised me. Founders didn't just want to understand what I built — they wanted to replicate it. And the most common next question was some version of: "Can I just do this myself with Claude?"
This guide is my honest answer to that question. Not a tutorial. Not a technical blueprint. A clear-eyed account of what it actually takes to build AI-powered compliance infrastructure — what worked, what nearly broke everything, and what most founders underestimate before they start.

If you're considering building something similar — or hiring someone who already has — this is what you need to understand first.
"Claude doesn't replace the founder. It removes the ceiling on what a founder can do alone."

The Problem with Cross-Border Hiring
Every founder who hires internationally hits the same wall. They need an employment agreement for a developer in Nigeria, or a marketing contractor in Kenya, or a compliance officer in South Africa. They Google it. They find nothing useful. They call a lawyer. The lawyer quotes $3,000 for a single agreement review.
The alternatives are worse. Global EOR platforms like Deel and Remote charge $599 per employee per month — pricing built for funded startups, not bootstrapped founders. Freelance contract templates ignore local law entirely. And hiring lawyers per engagement is expensive enough to kill the hire before it starts.
The Compliance Gap by Country
- Country — What Founders Routinely Miss
- Nigeria — US-style at-will agreements don't apply. Nigeria has no at-will doctrine. PFA pension (18% total) is mandatory and commonly omitted entirely.
- Kenya — NSSF and SHIF contributions are mandatory from day one. Most offshore agreements include neither. The Labour Act requires specific termination notice periods.
- Ghana — SSNIT contributions are required from the start of employment. Tier 1 and Tier 2 are separate obligations — most foreign founders treat them as one.
- South Africa — BCEA governs hours, leave, and termination. POPIA governs any employee data. Both are routinely absent from agreements drafted outside the country.
- Cameroon — CNPS employer contribution is 17.3% of gross salary. The Labour Code requires specific grounds for termination — notice alone is not sufficient.
Why the Knowledge Gap Exists
I spent 6 years managing international HR compliance for enterprises with 30–40 simultaneous contracts across CONUS and OCONUS. I watched founders — including well-funded ones — make the same compliance mistakes repeatedly, because the knowledge was locked inside expensive professionals and inaccessible platforms.
The founders who got it right had one thing in common: access. Access to someone who knew exactly which forms were required in each country, what contribution rates applied, and how to structure a termination clause that would hold up locally.
SoftHire is not an EOR.We don't employ the worker. We generate the agreement between the founder and the worker — giving founders the tools to manage that relationship directly. SoftHire is not a law firm.Every agreement includes a clear recommendation to review with local counsel for jurisdiction-specific edge cases. AI generates the first draft. A professional validates it. SoftHire is not a template store.Templates don't change when laws change. SoftHire generates agreements from structured compliance data that can be updated when regulations shift. The AI-Built Business Blueprint · @buildwithtachabuildwithtacha.softhireapp.com · Pages 4–5
